Privacy Policy
People researching implant removal are often doing so before telling anyone in their life. We have built this site to collect as little as possible, and this page says exactly what that means.
The short version
- You can read every page on this site without giving us anything.
- We do not sell or rent your information. Ever.
- We do not run advertising trackers or share data with ad networks.
- We never treat your visit here as a health record about you, and we do not build health profiles.
- If you email us or subscribe, we keep only what that requires.
What we collect
Nothing, if you just read. No account, no cookie banner, because we set no advertising or profiling cookies.
Aggregate analytics. We use privacy-preserving analytics that count page views and referrers in aggregate. It does not use cookies, does not follow you across sites, and does not identify you.
Your email, if you give it. Only when you subscribe to updates. Used to send those updates and nothing else.
What you write to us. If you contact us, we hold your message and address for as long as it takes to deal with it.
Server logs. Our host records standard request logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. These are short-lived and we do not mine them.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your symptoms, diagnoses, implant details, surgical history or any other health information, and we ask you not to send it. If you send clinical details anyway, we will delete them rather than store them. Any future symptom or cost tools will run entirely in your browser, with results never transmitted to us unless you explicitly choose to send them.
Who we share with
A small number of service providers process data strictly on our instructions: our hosting provider, our analytics provider, and our email delivery provider. We do not share your information with implant manufacturers, surgical practices, supplement companies, data brokers, insurers or advertisers.
We will disclose information if legally compelled. If that happens and we are permitted to tell you, we will.
How long we keep things
- Subscription email: until you unsubscribe, then removed.
- Correspondence: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Server logs: typically 30 days.
- Aggregate analytics: retained in aggregate, never tied to you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the UK and EU, PIPEDA in Canada, and the CCPA/CPRA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your information, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Californians additionally have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights; note that we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.
Exercise any of these by writing to privacy@explanthealth.com. We respond within 30 days and will not ask you to justify the request. Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. We keep the data we hold to a minimum, which is the most reliable security measure available to us. No system is perfectly secure, but there is very little here to lose.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the version and date above. Material changes affecting subscribers will be sent by email before taking effect.
