Is removal covered in Ontario?
OHIP funding rules are the same as elsewhere in Ontario: cosmetic removal is not funded, medically necessary removal may be, and pre-approval is normally required.
Where a procedure is not funded, the cost is yours. Ask for the quote in writing, and ask specifically what it includes — surgeon’s fee, anaesthetist, facility, pathology and follow-up are sometimes billed separately.

- Confirm the surgical facility is accredited, and that it is where you will actually be operated on.
